Marischka is best known for the "Sissi" trilogy—Sissi (1955), Sissi – The Young Empress (1956), and Sissi – Fateful Years of an Empress (1957)—which depicted the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and starred Romy Schneider. These films achieved international acclaim and remain classics in Austrian cinema.
